A
Maria D'Silva is the founder of D'Silva Translation. A graduate with a first class degree with distinction in modern languages, she went on to obtain post graduate qualifications and receive training at universities in Spain, Russia, France and the UK.
Maria has worked as a freelance interpreter for the European Institutions since 2010 and an interpreter on the private market since 2006. Her working languages are English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. In 2020 she passed the United Nations Freelancer Accreditation Exam.
Both the accreditation exams for the European Union Institutions and the United Nations are notoriously difficult and passing both on her first attempt indicates that Maria always strives to reach the highest levels of achievement in the profession.
As a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) in the United Kingdom she is also committed to ensuring high standards in the profession.
Having been brought up bilingually in both Spain and the UK and continuing to travel between the two countries on a regular basis, she is able to keep abreast of social, cultural and more importantly, language trends.
